Welcome to Sleepless Club
We founded Sleepless Club for one reason: to help parents find other parents they want to spend time with.
Having kids changes everything. All your priorities go out of the window. Simple things like going for a run, or getting a shower, become a privilege to be bartered between parents. Your Spotify recommendations are all “white noise”, and you’re wondering if anyone will notice the 2 day old baby sick on your t-shirt.
It’s exactly the sort of time you need a social circle or at least something resembling a normal conversation. But – weirdly – that’s also very hard to find.
When we had kids in London, we felt this loneliness. The prams were passing by, but no-one was talking. Our other friends were in the pub.
The only options for meeting other parents were NCT, or baby classes. They’re great, but they have two problems:
- People can be a bit awkward about socialising
- There’s no guarantee that you’ll have anything in common with the other parents
Sleepless Club was our answer to this. The idea is weekly, in-person meetups where everyone’s keen to meet new people, and everyone has a good chance of liking each other (plus no-one’s worried about the babies behaving, because we’re all in the same boat).
Why Sleepless Club is Different
- In-person meetups every Wednesday for parents and kids.
- Socialise with like-minded parents in your area.
- Meet in locations that are pre-vetted to child-friendly
Obviously there are problems with socialising as a parent. Mainly, it’s the children. Lots of locations aren’t baby or child-friendly. You need space for prams, no steps, a changing table. Ideally a park nearby. So we vetted these places to make sure everything ran smoothly (or as smoothly as it can with young children).
If you’re interested in joining Sleepless Club, it couldn’t be simpler. Sign up and fill in the personality quiz. You’ll then go onto our mailing list. We send an invite once a week for the next Wednesday morning. You can buy a ticket, or not – there’s no long-term obligation. Then we book the table for you and up to 4 other parents (plus kids).
Hope you like it. Remember – you were a person before becoming a parent. And there are lots of other parents/people out there too.
